| What started as a slight queeziness slowly became back-aches. Then everything started hurting. Amanda was in pain, sure, but it was mostly because she knew somethign and I wouldn't accept it. At least not until a tiny little technological marvel corroborated her statements. So we bought some tests. The Kroger brand. They were on sale!
But they weren't coming back positive, driving poor Amanda even more insane. She knew what was up. The research was done, the signs were all there. When were the stupid little gadgets going to catch up to natural, intuitive (possibly Wikipedia-based) knowledge? So I offered to return to the store and grab the good tests, the expensive tests. And as long as I was there, I figured I'd spring the three additional bucks it takes for a nice digital readout. "Find out up to five days sooner", the box proudly exclaimed. I was shaken out of sleep very early the next morning. I didn't get back to sleep. Lo, and behold: our child has conceived.
